Breeze is expanding and standardizing its fleet around the Airbus A220-300.
The airline has ordered 90 A220-300s, with purchase options for 30 additional aircraft and deliveries planned through 2028.
Breeze received 13 A220s during 2024, bringing its A220 fleet to 33 aircraft at the beginning of 2025.
Its remaining fleet included 10 Embraer E190s and three E195s, which primarily support charter operations.
Breeze’s A220s feature 137 seats, including 12 Breeze Ascent seats with 39 inches of pitch and a width of 20.5 inches.
The A220 produces approximately 25% lower fuel burn and carbon emissions per seat than previous-generation aircraft, supporting Breeze’s focus on efficiency, premium seating and growth in underserved markets.

Hiring & Career Outlook
Current pilot hiring: Breeze is recruiting pilots, including Airbus A220 Direct Entry Captains.
Public hiring target: Breeze expects its Raleigh-Durham crew base to create more than 200 combined pilot and flight attendant jobs. The company has not published a separate pilot-only target.
Additional base growth: Breeze expects its Akron-Canton base to create more than 60 pilot, flight attendant and maintenance jobs over three years.
Minimum qualifications: The A220 Direct Entry Captain position requires an unrestricted FAA ATP, at least 3,000 fixed-wing hours, 2,000 hours in large Group II transport-category aircraft, 500 hours of PIC in that category and 500 hours of U.S. Part 121 PIC time within the previous three years.
Fleet growth: Breeze has placed firm orders for 90 Airbus A220-300 aircraft, with options for 30 additional aircraft and deliveries scheduled through 2028.
Network growth: Breeze continues expanding its domestic network with new cities and routes across the United States.
International expansion: Breeze has received certification as a U.S. flag carrier and has announced service to destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean.
Overall outlook: Positive for pilots over the longer term, supported by base expansion, continued A220 deliveries, domestic network growth and the development of international flying.
